Learn with ProBike
Probike are the UK leaders in motorcycle training. Our courses are delivered by highly qualified and experienced instructors who are either ex-police riders, police trained instructors or DSA qualified examiners.
Probike training was established in January 2003 near Chelmsford, Essex. In that time we have expanded and now have a purpose built training area separate office and classrooms to cope with up to 60 students per week trained. Now approaching twenty years we have trained well in excess of twenty thousand people, using mopeds, scooters, small motorcycles and large capacity motorcycles, not forgetting the hundreds of future instructors we have trained throughout the UK.
Why are we able to do this ? Probike training was founded by an ex Police Sergeant and the testimonials of his training have been exemplary.
ProBike followed that ethos and now more than half of their instructors are ex Police or blue light trained. Our inhouse continuous training is first class giving us the ability to select only the best of the instructors on our courses, makes our training unrivalled.
If you want to learn with an established, professional and friendly motorcycle training company then give us a call today.
Our training is delivered in a safe, friendly learning environment at our purpose-built facilities our courses are enjoyed particularly by those younger riders just starting out and lady riders put off by the attitudes and environments found elsewhere.
We cascade the extremely high standards from our instructor courses down through our direct access scheme, compulsory basic training, scooter and moped courses to ensure everyone benefits from the experience and knowledge gained from our 10 years in the business and Police, emergency services and DSA backgrounds.
Compulsory Basic Training is needed to legally allow you to ride on a road as a learner. It is a course and not a test and will usually take a day to complete. It can be conducted on your own bike or one of our learner legal bikes. After some verbal briefings and off road training, you will then have a minimum of 2 hours of on the road training with one of our instructors. At the end you will be issued with your DL196 –
Moped courses
We are specialists in training our younger students and we have 8 spaces per weekend available. We conduct a full CBT and by all means we do not just hand out these certificates. The candidate must have a good knowledge of the highway code and complete the course to the satisfaction of one of our instructors. We take this training seriously, the course is conducted by our most qualified instructors because for the majority of our students this will be the first introduction to the responsibilities of being on the road.
To gain a full motorcycle licence you must pass both an off road manoeuvring test (the so called Module 1) as well as an assessed road ride with a DSA assessor. Probike are leaders in training you beyond the standard required for the test to ensure that your future motorcycling is safe and enjoyable..
For most of our motorcycle courses the actual instruction is them same, the only difference is the motorcycles that are used. We have a fully insured and reliable fleet of motorcycles suitable for all types on tests.
We offer 3, 4 or 5 day courses as well as supplementary days training should you require some extra practice. The ratio of students to instructor will never be more than 2 to 1 on a DAS course and we endeavour at all times to keep this ratio on smaller machines as well. You will not see 4 trainees out all day for sometimes 2 or 3 days at Probike like some other schools.
All of this type of instruction is carried out by our top instructors that are either ex-

This course, and our knowledge and experience, can only be found here. We are now imitated by others who say they have the same course structure and learning materials. This is not the case. We have never sanctioned our course and training material for use by other “instructor trainers”. They are probably successful students of Probike Training using the material from their own courses. They however do not have the course designers experience and in depth knowledge when actually teaching on their courses…..but of course we do!
We`re extremely flattered by this but please do not be fooled into paying for second hand information. Come to Probike Training and let the true professionals in instructor training lead you through your Cardington Assessment and show the way to becoming a fully qualified motorcycle instructor.
All our instructors have now all taken several courses and are regularly assessed by Roy for to ensure that our high standards are being continually being met. Student feedback is fed back into the course delivery and to ensure that our students needs are being met. No other company put so much time and effort into their course and deliver it with the professional standards of Probike Training.
